#PINKOCTOBER: with Galenika and Pantenol in the Breast Cancer Awareness Month
On the occasion of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Galenika will again this year allocate funds for a donation intended for the Institute of Oncology and Radiology of Serbia. From each Pantenol product purchased during October (whether it is Pantenol cream, ointment, solution, oriblets or foam), Galenika allocates 20 dinars for a donation and assistance to the National Institute for diagnosis, treatment and counseling of the largest number of breast cancer patients in our country.
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer, and the month of fighting this disease aims to raise awareness about the frequency of the disease and the importance of prevention, examination and early diagnosis, which significantly affects therapy and success of a treatment.
Breast cancer is also the most common malignant tumor in women in Serbia. About 5,000 women are diagnosed each year, and statistics show that one in eight women develop breast cancer during their lifetime. Breast cancer is a disease that affects a higher percentage of women, but it is also present in men. Annual screening examinations and early diagnostics are of great importance for the course and success of treatment, and that is the basic and most important reason why we should talk about this topic every month, not only in October, but also every day in October.
Galenika actively supports the fight against breast cancer, guided by the principle of “Share-Remind-Check”, because this is a topic that requires increased attention and awareness.
In addition to annual check-ups with a doctor, it is recommended that a breast self-examination be performed once a month. It lasts only a few minutes, which means a lot and is a set of prescribed palpation steps that anyone can perform at home.
With this action, their example and contribution, the company Galenika and the brand Pantenol this year again put the spotlight on the importance of prevention and regular breast self-examinations, as early diagnosis is crucial in healing and recovery. In addition, through the donation campaign, all consumers participate in the donation by purchasing Galenika’s Pantenol products – from each Pantenol product purchased during October (whether it is Pantenol cream, ointment, solution, oriblets or foam), Galenika allocates 20 dinars for donation and assistance to the Institute for oncology and radiology of Serbia, which deals with the diagnosis, treatment and counseling of the largest number of patients with breast cancer in our country.
We have also published the Pink October Instagram filter, which can be found on our Instagram profile @galenika.rs. We invite you to use it and together contribute in raising awareness about the fight against breast cancer, regular check-ups and prevention.
In order to educate and inform, we have created a special website where, in addition to information about the donor campaign, you can find useful tips and data related to breast cancer prevention.
The topic of the fight against breast cancer requires togetherness and united efforts. The World Health Organization therefore cites raising awareness as the most important step in the successful treatment of breast cancer.
We hope you will join us in our mission.
