Introduction and history

Ever since its foundation, GALENIKA AD BEOGRAD has been relying on its own research and development, which has been a guarantee of reliability and quality of its products for all these years. By following the scientific trends, GALENIKA AD BEOGRAD has been listed in the Innovation Register of the Ministry of Science and Technology Development of the Republic of Serbia as a research and development centre ever since 2007. This has enabled it to take part in national and international scientific and research projects.

Over the past years, Galenika’s R&D Institute took upon itself the task of doing scientific work directed to developing technological processes for pharmaceutical products, to improving the existing technological procedures, to preparing, improving and implementing analytical procedures, to preparing draft standards, to developing new products, and to other tasks vital for Galenika’s overall operation.

Institute’s activities

Today, Galenika’s R&D is a center of knowledge and experience, employing people with various education profiles in the fields of pharmacy, technology, chemistry, physical chemistry. Teams of researchers primarily focus their work on development of generic medicinal products, characterized by high quality, safety and efficiency. Development of a new pharmaceutical form involves a combined work of a large number of professionals in various scientific disciplines, joined in a single, common task – patient’s well-being and health. New medicinal products enrich Galenika’s portfolio and extend the therapeutic coverage of its products. By implementing the cutting-edge knowledge of pharmaceutical technology, we develop and produce quality medicinal products based on well-known pharmaceutical substances and manufactured in accordance with the latest GMP requirements.

KEY ACTIVITIES

The R&D employees are provided continuous professional development in the fields of pharmaceutical technology and industrial pharmacy, and are regular at scientific and professional meetings both in the country and abroad. The R&D primary goals involve development of technology for production of various pharmaceutical forms and implementation of all tests and researches necessary to acquire marketing authorization. Almost entire Galenika a.d. product range is the result of its own development performed by the experts working in the R&D, and our products are sold under their own proprietary names (brand names).
